The situation of trade unions in Hungarian society

Short-term and long-term problems of the Hungarian trade union movement were high on the agenda of the event on February 27 that took place within the debate series „Közbeszélgetések” (Public debates) of the New Equality online magazine and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung:

What do trade unions expect from the next government? What suggestions could they bring? What gives legitimacy to trade unions? Are they more powerful than political parties? Why does their membership revenue exceed by several times the membership revenues of political parties? What are the fundamental challenges? These and similar questions were discussed by the presidents of the leading Hungarian trade union confederations and experts.
