Three governing cycles with a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly were not enough for the Orbán-administration to start a comprehensive healthcare reform. The most notable change in the sector is the advance of private healthcare; Hungarians are among EU citizens paying the most for healthcare from their own pockets. What can we expect from the fourth constitutional majority in healthcare? Will private healthcare gain even more ground? How can the skilled workers shortage be remedied? Will the gap between the healthcare of the poor and the rich grow even wider? Will inequality continue increasing in the sector?
