Nordic model in Hungary?
The Institute for Social Democracy (SZDI) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), in cooperation with the Hungarian Trade Union Confederation MASZSZ are launching a series of programmes involving progressive political actors, trade union leaders and researchers. As the first part of the series, the Scandinavian practice will be presented and its lessons discussed. The so-called Cooperation Committee of the Nordic Labour Movement (SAMAK) is the committee for cooperation of the Nordic social democratic parties and the trade unions in Northern Europe. First, we invited Jan-Erik Støstad, General Secretary of this organisation and Anders Bergerus, General Counsellor of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation, to give a presentation on the Nordic practice of partnership between left-wing parties and trade unions, the so-called Nordic model. SAMAK has been particularly active in the development of the Nordic model in recent years, and our event will focus on this and its feasibility in Hungary. English-Hungarian simultaneous interpretation will be provided. The conference is open to the press and registration is open until 24 April at the following link.
