Why does gender pay transparency matter?

Drawing on nationwide research, this study explores the significant pay gaps between women and men, as well as the hopes, fears and workplace taboos surrounding pay transparency. The findings also highlight that greater pay transparency alone will not eliminate inequalities: changes in workplace culture and in employees’ ability to assert their interests may also be needed.
