What are trade unions doing for the youth of Europe?

On March 26, 2018, the FES Budapest office held a panel discussion on European youth policy and trade unions. The panelists included young union activists involved in the Youth Committee of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).

The discussion forum focused first on the topics "youth unemployment in Europe" as well as the precarious working conditions for young people. The panelists also addressed the significant differences between EU Member States as regards to youth unemployment. Furthermore, the discussions focused on transnational trade union strategies to recruit young members, as low youth membership  is one of the great challenges for trade unions at European level.
